Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston about the police's leniency in DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous regulations in these cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. O'Dell in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC.
